Caythorpe Riesling 2018 6 Bottles

Viticulture
This single vineyard wine was grown exclusively on “Caythorpe” situated in the heart of the Central Wairau Plains. The 2018 growing season was characterised by a
cool spring and warm summer. Two cane, vertical shoot positioned clone 110 vines were carefully managed with shoot thinning, bunch thinning and a medium level of
leaf exposure to deliver low yielding, clean fruit with concentrated flavours.
Winemaking
A single, small batch was carefully isolated in the vineyard based on fruit maturity and concentration. Harvested on the 13th of April in the cool early morning to preserve flavours, lightly pressed and immediately fermented in cool stainless steel with yeast that highlighted aromatic characteristics. Bottled September 2018.
Tasting Notes
Straw in colour, this wine possesses aromas of nectarine, citrus and white stonefruit blossom. The palate presents notes of white peach, mandarin and lime with a subtle mineral element resulting in a clean and crisp appeal.
